Part-Time or Full-Time
Taybank Walled Garden, Murthly Estate
From late March-April, 2025

The Taybank is looking for a passionate and skilled grower to join our dedicated team, working with Head Grower Don Macrae and other part-time team members to revitalise a three-acre walled garden . This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a transformative project, growing over 100 varieties of vegetables, fruit, herbs, and flowers for our year-round restaurant service. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in restoring and developing our three-acre garden to its full potential, working alongside the team to produce a bountiful and diverse crop for our restaurant.

  • Cultivate one acre of land (with potential for expansion) following organic principles.

  • Maintain our no-dig system in three large polytunnels and outdoor beds, while using minimum-tillage and green manures on the remaining areas.

  • Participate in a seven-year crop rotation inspired by Tolhurst Organics to optimise soil health and biodiversity.

  • Support daily garden tasks, including planting, harvesting, bed preparation, crop maintenance, and compost management.

Requirements:

  • Enthusiasm for sustainable, organic growing practices, ideally with experience in no-dig or minimal tillage systems.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.

  • Commitment to high standards of crop quality and productivity.

  • Flexibility to work varied hours during peak seasons.

Additional Details:

  • Options for part-time or full-time work, with working hours tailored to seasonal needs.

  • Salary dependent on experience.
